Session Details

  1. Recognizing and Addressing Common Security Threats in Your Law Firm: Another day, another data security breach. Data breaches have proliferated with amazing speed. Because of the sensitive data that law firms collect and store, they are a favorite target for hackers and cybercriminals. Among other issues, we will address common issues such as strong passwords, two-factor authentication, secure browsing, protecting digital client files, understanding email risks, and encrypting data in transit and at rest. Presenter: Adriana Linares
  2. Social Media Jury Investigations: There is information publically available online for at least 80% of potential jurors. Ignoring this information is falls short of zealous advocacy, and in the very near future, it will fall short of the standard of care. The trick of jury investigation is collecting the data in the slim time allotted for voir dire, and the bigger challenge is aggregating the information and presenting it to the trial attorney in a way that is easily digestible and actionable.  This seminar will explore the software, the strategies, and the workflows that make jury investigations possible and productive. Presenter: Shawn Vincent
  3. How to Develop (or Oversee) an Ethical and Professional On-Line Advertising Campaign: The legal profession constantly struggles to set advertising policies that strike the balance between consumer protection and access to justice. How can a Florida attorney enable people to get the information needed to make decisions about representation without violating advertising rules?  It’s important that lawyers be familiar with the options, benefits and potential pitfalls of their online personas, properties and advertising. Attend this session to learn about tasteful tools and methods appropriate to lawyers that comply with advertising rules. Presenter: Jason Marsh
